Little Ones

In a previous post I mentioned I was making some gifts for a few pals that are expecting... well here is a little bit of my progress:)  I finished a teal and cream baby blanket for my old boss/supervisor Jason and his wife Ellen. Their expecting a little boy in January. I'm so excited for them:)

I also made a few bibs and burp cloths for a boy because I thought my other pal might be having a boy (they didn't know the gender) but they had a little girl. So its time to switch it up with some pink.

Link Love

First and foremost I think Pinterest is so amazing. I have been completely inspired by design, fashion, decor, and DIY projects. There are so many things to look at. Another awesome site is Raverly. Raverly has free/purchasable patterns for knitting and crocheting. Lately I'm focusing on crocheting since I've been working on a few Christmas gifts. This way I'm not waiting till last minute. So here are a few lovely crochet links:)

Projects!

I have been working on some new projects and wanted to show you a sneak peek:) First I started a new granny square blanket out of all my yarn scraps. I'm really excited about it. There is no direction and its so colorful and bright.

Second I saw this owl cozy tutorial over on Elsie's blog awhile ago and decided to make one for my friend Tori. She loves pink and owls so it was perfect. I had to make it a bit bigger since she doesn't have an iphone.

I still have a couple things I want to show that I will be posting later this week. I hope your having a great weekend:)

Crocheting

Today I found some tutorials on crocheting. I absolutely love creating blankets, dishcloths, and lil plush toys with yarn. I started crocheting when Elsie had an e-course including granny squares a couple years ago and ever since I have been addicted. Once you start its hard to stop:)

Swap:)

I participated in the Artichoke Designs handmade craft swap and I wanted to post the things I made my partner since she received her package. My partner was Jen over at StickyBlog. She listed a few colors she liked + sci-fi so I made her a granny square blanket and a Star Trek art piece. I'm so glad she liked them.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Craft Time

Last night Tori and I had a craft night. She worked on a project for her Doctor Who swap and I tried a few new things. First I bought some flocking powder and covered one of my blind box Mickey's that I wasn't to thrilled about. It was a experiment and turned out beautifully.

I can't wait to make a glitter Micky next:) Second I made a little canvas craft which I will post a tutorial for but here is a sneak peak.

Third I crocheted some squares for a pillow I'm making...

Have you been working on any projects lately?

A few lil things this week. I have been working on a crochet scarf for a swap and got some awesome Heidi Kenney fabric. I can't wait to make something with it. I also got a blind box (from Urban Outfitters). I didn't get the one I wanted but fingers crossed I will next time.

My Christmas Vacation

Yes my vacation was spent up north in Michigan. It was completely freezing but defiantly worth it to see my family:) Every time I go home I have the intent to relax but there is so much to do in so little time in the country. Here's a few pics.

I finished crocheting several gifts:) (2 blankets and 2 scarfs)

Went to Christmas Eve service...

.....and met this little guy.

Hooked!

I'm addicted to crocheting and I can't stop. I just finished another blanket for a Christmas present and I'm half way done with another. I joined a couple swaps so I have a few squares to create for that and a special gift for a dear friend.

Also I went to starbucks today and they have Peppermint Mocha!!! It was perfect since it has been really chilly here.

Amigurumi Time

I made another owl for The Great Owl Crochet Along. I used sport yarn this time and the owl turned out to be way smaller than the first. I also made some modifications but I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.

Crochet-Along

I finally finished one of my owls for The Great Owl Crochet-Along hosted by Karla over at The Itsy Bitsy Spider. It was really fun to crochet this lil guy.

But it took me a couple attempts because I originally purchased wool yarn and found it didn't work the way I wanted it to so I switched over to acrylic and TADA!
Also Its my sister Kels 20th Birthday Today!
Happy Birthday sis!

Crochet Time

Tonight a friend is coming over to help me start the owl for The Great Owl Crochet-Along. I can't wait! I have never made a amigurumi plush before. Plus I decided to make my owl using Debbie Stroller's Full O' Sheep line. I love all the colors because they are so vibrant and remind me of the summer.

Worth The Wait

I received my granny squares from the The Great Granny Square Swap and I love them all. All the girls did a wonderful job making them. Although I'm a little puzzled to what I should make with them. Karla from The Itsy Bitsy Spider made a cute little tote out of few squares. I'm thinking maybe I should make a blanket or pillow. Do you have any suggestions?

Beginnings

I'm moving to Orlando from Tampa soon and I'm falling in love with all the shops and and events you can attend. There is so much to do. Plus I went to The Mall at Millenia for the first time and found two of my favorite stores: The Anthropologie store and Urban Outfitters. No more Ybor or Hyde Park.

I wanted this lil guy.

Also I've been crocheting and sewing this weekend.
I'm finishing a giant granny square blanket

and made an owl plush for my sister's Birthday

On another note you should head over to Hoot-n-Annie for The Great Granny Square Swap that I and 20 other crafty gals participated in. They are all beautiful.
