On the road

I have been super busy this past week and on Friday Jerry and I drove from Tampa to Miami and back to Tampa in a day. My first time there and I got a little glance but the only downside was 9 hours of driving! Alligator Alley felt like forever and it was completely crazy to drive in one day but absolutely fun! Anyway I'm finishing up my Christmas gifts and there's like no time left. Fingers crossed I will finish:)

It's Soon!

Christmas is super close and I still have so much to do. I finished crocheting two blankets but I still have two more to go. I have a few swaps I have to finish and several other presents. Plus I'm going to open my shop this week:) I can't wait! Here are a few previews.

The Masters

Every year I go to the Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney and every year I'm amazed. They have some of the top artists in the country, chalk artists, and several activities.

While I was there I found a store devoted to vinyl Mickey's (aka Vinylmation). Its so amazing they have this huge table that showcases all the vinyl Mickey's and they have this awesome chandelier.

I specifically was looking forward to seeing this artists artwork. She creates all her paintings on recycled pieces of wood.

I saw some pretty awesome sidewalk chalk art...

... and Basin had a sculptor carve Mickey of course out of a 300 pound peppermint soap to display for Christmas. Speaking of Christmas I can't wait! I have been crafting up a storm. Plus I'm going to open my etsy shop soon:)

I'm addicted to crocheting and I can't stop. I just finished another blanket for a Christmas present and I'm half way done with another. I joined a couple swaps so I have a few squares to create for that and a special gift for a dear friend.

Also I went to starbucks today and they have Peppermint Mocha!!! It was perfect since it has been really chilly here.

Amigurumi Time

I made another owl for The Great Owl Crochet Along. I used sport yarn this time and the owl turned out to be way smaller than the first. I also made some modifications but I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.

At Last!

My Mom, Pam, and Ari came to visit for a week and a half. We went to the beach, Disney, SeaWorld, and so much more. Its always amazing to see my mom but I can't wait to go to Michigan soon to see the rest of my family:)

On our way to Orlando we saw these trailers.....

At Seaworld

At Disney
I found my favorite character : DUMBO

Since my mom came I still haven't seen
Toy Story 3. But I heard its amazing.

Time fly's by when your having fun. I wanna rewind it!

I finally finished one of my owls for The Great Owl Crochet-Along hosted by Karla over at The Itsy Bitsy Spider. It was really fun to crochet this lil guy.

But it took me a couple attempts because I originally purchased wool yarn and found it didn't work the way I wanted it to so I switched over to acrylic and TADA!
Also Its my sister Kels 20th Birthday Today!
Happy Birthday sis!

Crochet Time

Tonight a friend is coming over to help me start the owl for The Great Owl Crochet-Along. I can't wait! I have never made a amigurumi plush before. Plus I decided to make my owl using Debbie Stroller's Full O' Sheep line. I love all the colors because they are so vibrant and remind me of the summer.

My favorite cupcake place Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly now has frozen yogurt. It's amazing there are 12 flavors including red velvet and 40 toppings. I love ice cream but I'm loven frozen yogurt more.

I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend:)

Worth The Wait

I received my granny squares from the The Great Granny Square Swap and I love them all. All the girls did a wonderful job making them. Although I'm a little puzzled to what I should make with them. Karla from The Itsy Bitsy Spider made a cute little tote out of few squares. I'm thinking maybe I should make a blanket or pillow. Do you have any suggestions?

I finally finished my sister Kels Birthday gift in advance. YES! Now I can ship it to her with a couple other things so it will be there in time. Below are pics. I made the owl using fleece, Anna Maria Horner fabric, and vinyl. It was a task seeing how I really don't know how to use my sewing machine but I'm learning:)

I'm moving to Orlando from Tampa soon and I'm falling in love with all the shops and and events you can attend. There is so much to do. Plus I went to The Mall at Millenia for the first time and found two of my favorite stores: The Anthropologie store and Urban Outfitters. No more Ybor or Hyde Park.

I wanted this lil guy.

Also I've been crocheting and sewing this weekend.
I'm finishing a giant granny square blanket

and made an owl plush for my sister's Birthday

On another note you should head over to Hoot-n-Annie for The Great Granny Square Swap that I and 20 other crafty gals participated in. They are all beautiful.
